  • Result Portal

A college result portal in Go that serves a million students on results day from a single 2 vCPU server.

On results day the college portal buckles under thousands of simultaneous logins, because every page view becomes a database query.

Results are immutable once published, so the Go server prerenders and precompresses every student's page into RAM at startup, leaving the database idle. An LRU cache with singleflight coalescing covers the fallback path, Nginx fronts it, and login is throttled per IP. I load-tested it with k6 against 100,000 and 1,000,000 student datasets, using an open-loop generator that opens a new connection per student and checks every page for the right student's marks. That showed bandwidth, not CPU, was the real limit, so I sized the deployment around it.

About 3,300 students per second on a single 2 vCPU server, clearing a million students in roughly five minutes. At 2,000 arrivals per second on 2 cores, p99 fell from 2.56 s to 6 ms. In the local 2-CPU test, 3,000 arrivals per second ran with zero failures and a 79 ms p99 across 1.4M journeys, and past the limit it slowed down rather than failed.

  • Rendis

A Redis-compatible in-memory database built from scratch in Go.

An internal project kept hitting the database for the same user profile, and no free managed Redis host fit the bill.

Wrote a Redis-compatible server in Go without AI-generated code: RESP protocol, a goroutine per client, an RWMutex-guarded store with lazy and active key expiry, and RDB snapshots. Render's free tier can't expose raw TCP, so RESP is tunnelled through an authenticated WebSocket gateway, with client libraries for Go, Python and JavaScript.

250K ops/sec over raw TCP (0.19 ms average, 0.83 ms P99) and 140K ops/sec through the WebSocket gateway with 50 connections on localhost, plus 1,500+ ops/sec with a 0% error rate cloud-to-cloud on Render's free tier.

  • HackingFlix LMS

A production learning management system I owned end to end during a full-stack internship.

A production LMS needed one engineer to own it across frontend, backend, infrastructure and deployment.

Built authentication, authorization, OAuth token rotation, email verification and account recovery, then shipped modules on top: E-Library, Webinars, Certificates, Job Board and analytics. Automated CI/CD with GitHub Actions, PM2, Prisma and PostgreSQL.

10+ production modules delivered over a two-month internship, from first commit to deployment.

    Node.js, PostgreSQL, OAuth, CI/CD, Full-Stack

  • Automated Result Notifier

Monitors result portals in real-time and instantly notifies users when results are published.

On results day the college portal buckles under thousands of simultaneous logins, and students spend hours refreshing a loading screen.

A watcher polled the results portal for a definitive sign the new semester was live, buzzed my phone through a Telegram bot, then fetched grades for 40 students and emailed each of them their GPA and subject-wise grades with NodeMailer.

Results detected at 3:05 PM and in 40 inboxes by 3:08, a full 17 minutes before the official announcement took the portal down.

  • SGPA Calculator

A fast, minimal GPA calculator ranked #1 on Google, with 32,000+ calculations processed.

Students at SKCET needed a quick, reliable way to work out their SGPA without doing the credit-weighted maths by hand.

A fast, minimal calculator built with React and Vite, kept deliberately small, and open-sourced.

Ranked #1 on Google with 32,000+ calculations processed.

  • App Throttler

A no-root Android app that throttles, blocks and inspects the network of only the apps you pick, using a local VPN.

Testing an Android app on a bad network meant slowing the whole device or rooting it, and nothing on a real phone matched the "Slow 3G" dropdown in browser dev tools.

A local VpnService receives only the selected apps' traffic and relays it through a user-space TCP/UDP forwarder with IPv4 and IPv6 support. Token-bucket shaping, a latency and jitter queue and packet-loss injection emulate 2G to 4G, with a per-app firewall, host sniffing, PCAP export and scripted scenarios such as 4G, then 2G, then offline. Built with Compose, Hilt and Room.

Per-app network control on a real device with no root, adjustable while the VPN runs and drivable from a Quick Settings tile or adb, with JVM unit tests covering packet parsing, shaping and capture.

  • SMSFlare

A private, self-hosted SMS gateway that transforms Android devices into a secure communication pipeline using Cloudflare Workers and D1.

Sending SMS from your own apps usually means paying a third-party gateway and routing your messages through someone else's servers.

A Kotlin Android app turns a phone into the sending device, Cloudflare Workers and D1 run the gateway at the edge, and a Next.js front end drives it. Several devices can be paired by QR code and messages are routed across them, with telemetry and a REST API for sending.

A private, self-hosted, multi-device SMS gateway that runs on phones you already own.
